One effective approach to reducing stress levels is by managing the overproduction of cortisol, a hormone associated with stress. Research has shown that elevated cortisol levels can contribute to the development of mental health issues like depression and anxiety. Fortunately, there are several proven methods to lower cortisol and alleviate stress.

Engaging in regular exercise and aerobic activities, such as swimming or biking, can significantly reduce cortisol levels in the body. These physical activities help release endorphins, which are known as the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Additionally, incorporating practices like yoga, meditation, and deep-breathing exercises into your daily routine can be beneficial in reducing stress and lowering cortisol levels. Many individuals who have successfully decreased their stress levels through these methods have also reported a decrease in depressive symptoms.
