Symptoms and Treatments of Tinea Cruris

Symptom: Spreading Rash

When tinea cruris, also known as ringworm, develops on the skin, one of the noticeable symptoms is the appearance of an expanding rash. Initially, the rash appears as a small circular patch and gradually spreads outward, forming a distinct ring shape. This resemblance to a worm embedded in the skin is what gives the condition its common name: ringworm.

Symptom: Dry, Flaky Skin

When tinea cruris, also known as jock itch, infects the skin, it may lead to the development of dry and scaly patches. These patches tend to become more pronounced after a day or two of the infection. Additionally, it is not uncommon for blisters to appear in the affected area. These blisters can either ooze or become crusty, especially if the infected area is scratched or comes into contact with clothing.
