The Complete Guide to Mesomorphs

Mesomorphs and Injury Risk

There is a common belief that individuals with a mesomorphic body type are more susceptible to specific injuries. However, it is important to note that this perception may be influenced by the fact that mesomorphs are more inclined to engage in activities that have a higher risk of injury, such as intense sports or weightlifting. A study was conducted to examine the potential correlation between mesomorphy and lower limb and back injuries. Surprisingly, the results indicated that mesomorphs do not possess an increased likelihood of experiencing these types of injuries.

Common Combinations

It is rare for individuals to have a singular somatotype as most people exhibit a combination of two somatotypes, although some may display features of all three. A study conducted in 2017 examined 146 participants and identified six somatotypes within the group. Among these somatotypes, the endomorphic mesomorph was the most prevalent, consisting of 56 participants. The high occurrence of this combination can be attributed to the fact that both endomorphs and mesomorphs have the ability to rapidly gain muscle and fat.
