In fact, a research conducted by Carnegie Mellon University discovered that individuals who had a positive outlook on life, mainly due to their loving relationships, experienced fewer symptoms when exposed to cold or flu viruses compared to those with a negative mindset.

Love’s positive effects extend beyond the heart, as research suggests that being in a fulfilling marriage can also have a protective effect on lung health. This is particularly evident in terms of preventing complications and mortality associated with pneumonia. Studies have shown that married individuals are less likely to require ventilator support or intensive care and experience shorter hospital stays compared to those who are unmarried. Additionally, their risk of mortality during hospitalization is reduced by 13 percent.
