What is Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease?
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a prevalent viral infection that often affects children and causes a characteristic skin rash. It typically starts with early symptoms such as a sore throat, fever, and a general feeling of being unwell. Within a day or two of experiencing these initial signs, the affected individual develops a rash consisting of blister-like sores. These sores commonly appear on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and inside the mouth and throat. While the bumps are not accompanied by itching, they can be extremely painful and cause significant distress, particularly in children.
Understanding Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a prevalent and persistent skin condition that unfortunately does not have a known cure. It is characterized by recurring cycles of flare-ups, which can last for several weeks or even months, followed by periods of remission. The condition often manifests as itchy red patches of scaly skin, typically found on the knees, elbows, scalp, or trunk. In certain instances, psoriasis can lead to the development of thick, silvery scales, while in others, the affected areas may crack or bleed.
