Type 2 Diabetes Prevention and Treatment

Symptoms of Diabetes

Identifying the symptoms of diabetes can be challenging as they are not always easily noticeable, particularly in the early stages. However, there are several common symptoms to watch out for. These include an unquenchable thirst, frequent urination, and an increased appetite. Surprisingly, weight loss can also be a symptom of diabetes. Additionally, individuals with diabetes often experience fatigue and irritability. Furthermore, diabetes impairs the body’s ability to combat infections, resulting in slower healing of wounds and sores.

Symptoms: Acanthosis Nigricans – Darkened Skin

One of the peculiar symptoms often linked to type 2 diabetes is the occurrence of darkened skin in specific areas, a condition known as acanthosis nigricans. This condition causes the affected skin, such as the armpits and neck, to appear dark, almost black. The darkening of the skin in these locations serves as visible evidence of hormone resistance within the body.
