Armpit pain can be attributed to various factors, one of which is the swelling of lymph nodes. This occurrence signifies that the immune system is responding to a certain stimulus. Swollen lymph nodes can vary in size, ranging from as small as a pea to as large as a golf ball or even bigger, depending on the underlying cause. While they may or may not be tender to the touch, it is crucial to note that swollen lymph nodes are typically a normal reaction to an infection. However, when these swollen nodes are detected in the armpit area, it is important to consider the possibility of breast cancer and seek medical evaluation.
What Causes Shingles?
Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. If you have had chickenpox before, you are at risk of developing shingles. Before the characteristic rash appears, individuals may experience pain and tingling sensations. Shingles typically manifest as a single line of blisters along the body, following the path of the nerve roots. In some cases, if the rash appears near the armpit, it may also cause armpit pain.
