The Development of Hypernatremia

Hypernatremia can manifest itself either gradually or suddenly. If the condition arises within a 24-hour timeframe, it is often accompanied by other underlying health complications. For instance, an upset stomach leading to diarrhea can cause a rapid loss of bodily fluids, ultimately resulting in the onset of hypernatremia. On the other hand, if the condition takes one or two days to develop, it is generally perceived as less severe; however, cases that develop rapidly necessitate more intensive treatment.
