What is Melanin?

The Mystery Behind Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin condition characterized by the loss of pigment in certain areas, leading to noticeable patches of white skin. This condition is more prominent in individuals with darker skin tones and typically appears during early adulthood, between the ages of 20 and 30. Exploring Different Forms of Hypopigmentation

Hypopigmentation can also arise from various factors, including skin trauma like burns or blisters. In more severe cases, the melanin loss can be significant. Fortunately, there are treatment options available for this type of hypopigmentation, such as the use of cosmetics for camouflage or corticosteroid creams. While the loss of pigmentation may not be permanent, it does require time for redevelopment.
