Sun Poisoning Rash: Symptoms and Signs
When exposed to excessive sunlight, one of the indications of sun poisoning is the development of a distressing skin rash. This rash is typically characterized by redness, blistering, bumps, and itching. In some cases, the bumps may appear similar to hives. Additionally, swelling at the affected area is a common occurrence, which may cause pain or a tingling sensation. It is also possible for the skin to darken, a condition known as hyperpigmentation, at the site of the rash.
Additional Symptoms of Sun Poisoning
Sun poisoning can manifest in various other symptoms apart from the typical skin reactions. These symptoms may include fever, chills, headache, nausea, vomiting, dehydration, facial swelling, confusion, and lightheadedness. It’s important to note that these symptoms resemble those of flu and other viral illnesses, making it challenging to accurately diagnose sun poisoning. If you suspect you have developed sun poisoning, it is crucial to seek medical attention, particularly if the symptoms are severe.
