4. Epsom Salt

The magnesium sulfate in Epsom salt is what gives it its anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it an excellent remedy for treating heel spurs. Put warm water and a cup of Epsom salt in a bath. Let your foot soak for between 15 and 20 minutes each day while you gently rub the area near the spur. Slowly, you will break up calcium deposits, loosen muscles, and loosen tendons in your foot. It is recommended that you do this two times a day to help the spur heal fast and minimize the pain you feel as you recover.

5. Stretching

Stretching is a phenomenal way to alleviate heel spur pain. There are several exercises that you can follow to stretch the plantar fascia. A common exercise is where you lean forward and put your hands on the wall to support your weight. Position your feet as if you are going to start a race, bending one knee. Gently push off with the opposite foot. This will stretch the arch of your foot. You can use exercise bands to apply resistance without putting pressure on the heel.
