10 Home Remedies for Jock Itch

2. Mouthwash

Mouthwash is a great home remedy for the starter stages of jock itch. Before the skin is broken and develops sores, this substance can help to kill any bacteria or fungus in the area. This is because mouthwash has a fairly high alcohol content, and that alcohol is going to kill the bacteria that’s causing the itching. Just don’t use it on broken or irritated skin. Not only will it hurt, but the other ingredients may make things worse.

3. Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol, known as isopropyl alcohol, will start to kill the bacteria and other germs in the infected region. The stronger the concentration, the better it’s going to work. You can put some on a rag, or cup your hands and apply the liquid directly to the area. Though just like with every other method here, you do not want to rinse the alcohol away after use. Allow it to set on the area. Alcohol evaporates very quickly, but washing it away removes the alcohol completely and thus doesn’t allow it to kill the infection.
