Understanding Drop Attacks
Drop attacks, also known as Tumarkin’s attacks, are sudden and unexplained falls that occur without losing consciousness. They are often described as feeling like being forcefully pushed to the ground from behind. Surprisingly, individuals experiencing drop attacks can quickly get back up without any lingering discomfort. It is worth noting that drop attacks typically occur at advanced stages of a disease rather than in the early phases. Thankfully, drop attacks are relatively rare, affecting less than 10 percent of patients.
Migraines and Meniere’s Disease
There is a potential connection between migraine headaches and Meniere’s disease, with approximately one-third of Meniere’s disease patients also experiencing migraines. Although scientists have not definitively established a link between the two conditions, some experts believe that there may be a correlation. Fortunately, individuals with Meniere’s disease who suffer from migraines can find relief through the use of appropriate migraine medication.
