Understanding Nausea and Vomiting in Vertigo Attacks
During vertigo attacks, it is not uncommon for patients to experience feelings of nausea. This is particularly true for those who endure long or severe episodes. The persistent dizziness can disrupt the digestive system, leading to an overwhelming urge to vomit. It is important to note, however, that not all individuals with vertigo will experience nausea or vomiting as these symptoms are typically associated with the vertigo itself. Consequently, individuals with Meniere’s disease should not expect to encounter these symptoms outside of a vertigo episode.
Sweating and Vertigo
Experiencing excessive sweating can be a common symptom of vertigo, although it is not directly caused by the condition itself. Individuals who suffer from vertigo may find themselves sweating profusely during a vertigo flare-up. This is often due to a hormonal imbalance that is associated with vertigo, particularly in individuals with Meniere’s disease. As the vertigo subsides, the excessive sweating tends to go away as well.
