10 Symptoms of ADHD

Challenges with Task Organization

Signs of ADHD may be evident in a child’s difficulty in organizing and completing tasks. For instance, a child may require constant reminders to accomplish simple tasks such as brushing their teeth. Despite being instructed to do so, the child might later be discovered playing with a toy in their room, having completely forgotten about the initial instruction. Similarly, the child might walk away from their homework at the table only to engage in activities like watching television or playing video games, completely disregarding the assignment. Although this behavior may initially appear as a deliberate delay tactic, it is important to acknowledge that children with ADHD often genuinely forget about their ongoing tasks and become engrossed in something else entirely.

Difficulty Paying Attention to Details

Children diagnosed with ADHD frequently struggle with following instructions, whether it involves accomplishing a particular task or finishing a homework assignment. A child might choose to evade the task altogether or make numerous careless errors while rushing through it, lacking the necessary focus and attention.
