10 Symptoms of B12 Deficiency

For your brain, nerve tissue, and red blood cells to function properly, your body needs the right amount of vitamin B12. Even though the body can store vitamin B12 that can last for years, those who have absorption issues or those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet may have a deficiency. In fact, vitamin B12 deficiencies are so common that there are more than three million cases in just the United States.

Reduced Muscle Strength

When you visit a doctor because of a loss of muscle strength, they may ask you if you have recently been ill or if you have been working out too hard. If a specific issue is not linked to muscle fatigue, a vitamin B12 deficiency may be to blame. When there is not enough of this nutrient in the body, the right amount of oxygen is not able to reach the red blood cells. This can affect the strength of muscles to varying degrees.
