10 Symptoms of Epilepsy

Incontinence during Seizures

During a seizure, it is not uncommon for individuals to experience incontinence, which refers to the loss of control over the muscles that regulate the bladder and bowels. This occurrence is particularly prevalent in more aggressive forms of seizures. However, in non-violent seizures, incontinence is less frequent and less severe.

Confusion after a Seizure

One common symptom experienced by individuals during or after a seizure is confusion. Prior to the episode, the person may feel disoriented or have difficulty focusing. Following the seizure, they might struggle to remember the events that occurred immediately before or during the episode. However, in most cases, their memory returns within a few minutes, although this can vary depending on the severity of the seizure.

If you witness someone having a seizure, it is important to stay with them afterwards to provide support and ensure their safety and comfort.
