Renal artery stenosis is a condition that arises when the renal arteries, responsible for carrying blood from the aorta to the kidneys, become narrowed or constricted. This constriction hampers the kidneys’ ability to receive an adequate supply of oxygenated blood. Consequently, this condition poses several risks, including damage to kidney tissue and high blood pressure. It is not uncommon for individuals with renal artery stenosis to experience a decline in kidney function alongside an elevation in blood pressure levels.
Xanthoma: Symptoms and Causes
Xanthoma is a condition that may occur as a result of genetics and high cholesterol levels. It manifests as skin lesions that appear yellowish and waxy in texture. These lesions develop when an excess of cholesterol accumulates beneath the surface of the skin.
Although xanthoma primarily affects the face, it is important to note that it is not a common condition, even among individuals with genetically high cholesterol levels.
