Causes of a Low-Grade Fever

What is Walking Pneumonia?

Walking pneumonia, also known as atypical pneumonia, is a type of lung infection that is caused by the Mycoplasma pneumoniae bacteria. Unlike traditional pneumonia, those who are infected with walking pneumonia may not even realize they are sick as they can continue with their daily activities. However, they may experience mild symptoms such as a low-grade fever and a persistent dry cough. These symptoms occur when the bacteria attach to the cells of the bronchial epithelium and cause inflammation in the respiratory pathways.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: Understanding the Immune System’s Mistaken Attack

Rheumatoid arthritis is a condition where the immune system mistakenly identifies normal tissues as foreign invaders, leading to a series of inflammatory responses. One common symptom experienced by individuals with rheumatoid arthritis is a low-grade fever. Interestingly, even though immunosuppressants are commonly prescribed to manage the condition, they can paradoxically increase the susceptibility of individuals to infections and subsequently cause fever.
