Signs of Breast Cancer

Understanding Changes in Breast Shape or Size

It is quite common for women to have some differences in size or shape between their breasts. In fact, most breasts are naturally asymmetrical to some degree, even if the difference is not noticeable. Additionally, breasts can undergo changes in shape or size due to various factors such as aging, weight fluctuations, and hormonal fluctuations.

However, it is important to pay attention to any sudden changes in the appearance of one breast, as this could be a potential cause for concern. Inflammatory swelling caused by cancer or the growth of a lump can lead to noticeable changes in the breast’s appearance, especially if the lump has grown rapidly or is located near the surface.

Symptoms Beyond the Breast

Recognizing breast cancer through non-breast symptoms can be challenging as they are often vague and general. These non-breast symptoms may include fatigue, unexplained weight loss, back pain, and shortness of breath. However, it is important to note that breast cancer is rarely diagnosed solely based on these non-breast symptoms.
