Symptoms and Causes of Inflamed Ovaries

Symptom: Digestive System

When the ovaries become swollen, they can cause disruptions in the normal functioning of the digestive system. The enlarged organs exert pressure on nearby structures, leading to various symptoms. Women experiencing inflamed ovaries often have an increased frequency of urination, although they may struggle to empty their bladder completely. Additionally, feeling full after consuming small amounts of food is a common complaint, as the swollen ovary occupies space that would typically be occupied by the stomach. Indigestion or sudden constipation can also be indicative of inflamed ovaries.

Symptom: Difficulty in Conceiving

While this symptom may go unnoticed by women who are not actively trying to get pregnant, it can be distressing for those who are struggling to conceive. Medical experts advise women who have been trying to conceive for a year without success to consult with their physician. However, if a woman also experiences other symptoms associated with inflamed ovaries along with difficulty in conceiving, it is crucial to seek medical advice earlier.
