Another viable option for those following a ketogenic diet is the consumption of berries in moderation. Despite their sweetness, berries don’t disrupt ketosis when consumed in small quantities, making them a suitable choice for satisfying your sweet tooth without sabotaging your progress.
Is Milk Really Bad for You?
While milk may not be the best choice for those following a ketogenic diet due to its high carbohydrate content of about 12 grams of net carbs per eight-ounce serving, it’s important to consider its potential health benefits. Whole milk is a rich source of calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and essential vitamins such as A, D, and B12. These nutrients contribute to bone health and can even help fight inflammation in the body. If you’re willing to consume the extra carbs, indulging in a glass of milk may still be worth it. However, if you’re looking for a healthier and low-carb alternative, consider coconut milk, unsweetened almond milk, or hemp milk.
