Fetal Development in the First Four Weeks
During the initial four weeks of fetal development, crucial organs such as the heart, circulatory system, and digestive system start to take shape. Additionally, a neural tube forms, which will eventually develop into the brain and spinal cord. The development of ears and eyes commences, while buds emerge that will eventually grow into arms and legs. At this stage, the embryo bears a resemblance to a tadpole and already possesses a beating heart.
Development during Weeks 4 to 8 of Pregnancy
During the fourth to eighth weeks of pregnancy, significant changes occur in the development of the fetus. At this stage, the baby begins to take on a more human-like appearance, although its head is still relatively larger compared to the rest of its body. The growth of arms and legs becomes more apparent, with the emergence of webbed fingers and toes. Additionally, the nervous and urinary systems start to develop during this period.
Furthermore, the development of tooth buds begins, and the features of the mouth, nose, and ears become more defined. It is important to note that although bones start to form, the embryo’s movements are not yet felt by the mother.
