10 Symptoms of Gastritis

Black Stool

Although this does not occur with everyone with gastritis, you may see changes in your stool. The stool may turn black and gritty and look like tar. The black color shows there may be bleeding in your stomach. In some instances, you may see blood in the urine. If you see this symptom, it means you have ulcers, which are complications that come when gastritis worsens. If you see changes in your stool, especially bloody stool, you need to see a doctor immediately to start treatment. If not corrected fast, ulcers can exacerbate and increase the risk of developing cancer.

Frequent Belching

If you have gastritis, you will belch more than other people. This is common after meals. The belching is loud and may or may not have an odor. You can belch frequently for a few hours after meals. The belching is a result of indigestion in your stomach. It is a relief from the pain that comes with indigestion. You will have so much gas in your digestive tract, and these are the ones that you release when you belch. Even though you feel relief when belching, the pain and the bloating come back immediately.
