10 Symptoms of Shingles

Fatigue and muscle weakness

In some cases, shingle infections can lead to a weak immune system. Weakening of the body’s defense system can make individuals experience fatigue. Affected individuals experience muscle tiredness in the waist, chest, and back area.

Post-infection pain

It’s typical for patients to experience persistent pain in the areas of shingle reactivation. The pain may linger for weeks or months before eventually subsiding. In extreme cases, the pain can persist for more than a year; a condition doctors refer to as post-herpetic neuralgia. Besides pain, the patient may also experience itchiness and numbness in the reactivation area.
